There are typically two motivations for weight loss:
- Be thin, look awesome, gain external validation because of your new thin, hot body
- Be free, move freely, feel internally happy because of your free, comfortable body
The first option leads to conditional happiness.
Your happiness is dependent upon the outside world. If people don’t start paying attention to you and treating you differently because of your new, hot bod, then your happiness is screwed.
The second option leads to unconditional happiness.
Your happiness is dependent on YOU – and whether the world validates you or not, you’re still smiling. Still shining.
No matter how much the world tries to build you up or knock you down, at the end of the day, your happiness remains in tact. You’re doing you, and you feel good.
As you proceed on your weight loss journey, try to walk the path of Weight Loss Motivation #2. It’s the one that will lead to long-term success and long-term happiness.
Simply put, it’s the kind of weight loss motivation that works.
